Literary get-together in Solothurn

Solothurner Literaturtage

Program

Three days dedicated entirely to literature: As every year, the Ascension weekend is when literary practitioners and aficionados from Switzerland and beyond gather for the Solothurner Literaturtage. This year’s 39th edition brings together around 70 authors from all four linguistic regions in Switzerland for a literary tour d’horizon. Guest writers from abroad include Shumona Sinha from France and Volker Braun and Ilja Trojanow from Germany. As usual, translation and translators take up an important place in the agenda, and the spoken-word scene is also well represented.

Young readers are specifically invited for a taste of literature in the days prior to the main festival. The children’s and youth literature days from 22 to 25 May offer a wide range of readings and workshops. School classes are welcome! Pro Helvetia provides financial backing for the Solothurner Literaturtage via a support agreement.
