Incidencias Sonoras

About Chico Dub
Chico Dub (Rio de Janeiro, Brazils) is a curator specialising in experimental music, avant-garde music and sound art. He is the curator of the Novas Frequências international festival held since 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, which is considered the main South American festival of its kind.
Launched in fall 2018, «Incidencias Sonoras» is the new experimental music and sound art platform in connection with our South America programme COINCIDENCIA. «Incidencias Sonoras» focuses on exploratory musical activities that promote new musical languages and other forms of listening and highlights practices that are closer to contemporary art, such as free improvisation, free jazz, electronic, noise, sound art, electro-acoustic music, musique concrète and contemporary classic music. Like «COINCIDENCIA», «Incidencias Sonoras» supports various types of projects from South American and Swiss partners, such as exhibitions, residencies, research platforms, tours, co-productions, translations and research trips.
The manager of «Incidencias Sonoras», Rio de Janeiro based curator Chico Dub explains us the importance of supporting these niche music genres and the first projects launched within the frame of the programme.
