New Promotion Instruments

Spoken Word performances have become an established new art form in Switzerland, with numerous artists – either individually or as a collective – dedicating themselves to this form of spoken literature. Opportunities to perform at publishing houses, theatres and Spoken Word festivals are increasingly opening up for the vibrant Swiss scene, which has gained a sizeable following.

Pro Helvetia is adjusting its promotion practice to these developments and is creating new instruments for the promotion of high-quality Spoken Word performances. They include flexible work grants up to a maximum amount of CHF 15,000, contributions towards translations, as well as fees and travel expenses in connection with tours. Authors of Spoken Word literature will also be entitled to apply for residencies – naturally as collectives, too.
