Swiss literature as guest of honour in Montpellier

Around 30 Swiss authors have been invited to the 34th edition of Comédie du Livre in Montpellier.
Organised by the municipal Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole society, the Comédie du Livre festival presents a broad-based literary programme every year. The festival was originally founded to boost the booksellers’ network and to stage a public open-air event focusing on the world of books. It is still held on the Place de la Comédie and so attracts a large number of visitors. Comédie du Livre offers a platform not only for domestic writers, but also for authors from a different guest country each year. This year the honour is Switzerland’s. From 17–19 May, about 30 writers from all four linguistic regions of our country will be present at the festival. They will hold readings, participate in conferences and discussion rounds, and present their books at the booths of the local booksellers.
