IKARUS is a contemporary / groove / jazz quintet consisting of Ramón Oliveras (composition, drums), Anna Hirsch (vocals), Andreas Lareida (vocals), Lucca Fries (piano) and Mo Meyer (upright bass). Their singular sound is based on continuously permutating polyrhythms, fluctuating grooves, organic improvisations and an enchanting blend of male and female vocals. The compositions continue to evolve in their live shows and tend to reappear in new versions on their full-length records. To date, IKARUS have released a total of three LPs on Nik Bärtsch’s boutique label Ronin Rhythm Records and are regularly touring in Europe and Japan.

Releases

2018 «Riot»

KALI represents the fresh and deep spirit of a new post-genre generation of musicians. Nicolas Stocker (drums), Urs Müller (guitar) and Raphael Loher (prepared piano) are natives of a contemporary music world in which new minimal, ambient, noise and new classical chamber music are just variations of a common language. They feel at home in a simultaneously composed and free and improvised musical context and follow their intuition with a broad and non-ideological understanding of music history. With this background KALI creates beautiful dark pattern spaces, hard minimal grooves and abstract mystical journeys that combine sound sensitivity and progressive power.

KALI is a genuine working band, that invests time, passion and patience into the idea of being a true musical and social organism. With their dedicated band spirit, the three Kali members create an evolving new world of sounds and rhythmic interactions.
