The Centre national de la danse in Pantin near Paris has, under the directorship of Mathilde Monnier, set up a programme called «Camping». It represents an international platform for exchange among emerging as well as established choreographers and dancers, artists from other fields, researchers, teachers and students, and any other «campers» wishing to immerse themselves in the world of choreography. By fostering dialogue between different generations of choreographers, as well as between choreographers and practitioners of other arts disciplines, Camping becomes a potent laboratory for experiments. It offers courses, workshops, conferences, debates, film screenings, public performances and exhibitions.
Pro Helvetia enables three professional artists to take part at «Camping». The call for applications is aimed at choreographers who work on an ongoing basis in Switzerland and who have a track record in planning and implementing projects of their own. The Arts Council assumes all the costs involved.
