With «Diversity Tandem», the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is offering publicly supported cultural institutions and organisations the possibility of examining their structures and support in enhancing their diversity. The cultural institutions and organisations selected will receive guidance from diversity experts of their choice, will obtain resources, competencies and methods for enhancing diversity and equality within their organisational structures, and will have the possibility of testing sustainable diversity measures.

Who is eligible to apply?

Publicly supported Swiss cultural institutions and organisations from all disciplines who would like to examine the diversity and equality within their organisational and operational structures and to develop and implement long-term diversity strategies with the help of diversity experts are invited to apply.

What will be supported?

Support will go to forms of collaboration with mandated diversity experts who guide the development, implementation and evaluation of sustainable diversity strategies. Only projects that focus on long-term diversity processes at various structural and operational levels (personnel, programmes, public) and that deal primarily with issues related to migration society and gender equality will be considered.

What will not be supported?

No support is provided for the planning and implementation of individual cultural outreach and arts projects or for projects in an educational context.

How long is support provided for?

This form of support is intended for long-term diversity processes that run for a period of 2-3 years.

How high is the financial support?

Depending on the project concerned, the support can amount to anything between CHF 30,000 and CHF 50,000. The cultural institutions in question must provide some of the funding themselves and, ideally, receive funds from third parties, too.

When and how will a selection by made?

Pro Helvetia will make the selection together with an external specialist jury and communicate the outcome by mid-October 2021 at the latest.

What part will Pro Helvetia play in the process?

Besides financial support, Pro Helvetia will also, on request, provide a list of diversity experts. It will also organise regular possibilities of exchange with and among those participating in the project.
