On 3 November 2021, a special cultural event is taking place at Pro Helvetia’s Head Office in Zurich: the inauguration of eight works of art created by Swiss artists specifically for this building and its outside spaces. On the opening day, visitors are invited to take part in guided tours as an introduction to the works. (For details see box.)
The installations have been created by the same artists who were given the opportunity to publish a Cahier d’Artistes this year, an initial monograph to their name, with the support of Pro Helvetia. The artworks stand in connection both with the historic aspects of the building from the 18th century and with the activities of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, which supports and disseminates Swiss arts and culture on behalf of the Confederation in Switzerland and around the world.
The eight artists:
Dorota Gawęda und Eglė Kulbokaitė (Basel)
Roman Gysin (Zurich)
Andreas Hochuli (Geneva)
Sandra Knecht (Buus/BL)
Marie Matusz (Basel)
Noha Mokhtar (Zurich und New York City)
Elena Montesinos (Geneva)
Ramaya Tegegne (Geneva)
