Selected Artists in Residence 2023

Out of 671 applications received, 71 cultural practitioners and artists will take up residencies in Pro Helvetia’s global network in 2023, with the aim of strengthening their networks worldwide, drawing inspiration and developing new projects. Artists and cultural practitioners from the regions of the liaison offices and Switzerland spend up to 3 months in a different context, where Pro Helvetia together with its partner organisation provides them with a place to work, professional coaching and connects them with the art scenes in the region they are placed at. Pro Helvetia also offers residencies at the Swiss Institute in New York and at Palazzo Trevisan in Venice.
In collaboration with Transmediale (Berlin) and V2 (Rotterdam), Pro Helvetia launched a call for hybrid residencies in digital arts for the first time. Seven artists and cultural practicioners from Switzerland and Eastern European countries were selected for a residency.
For an overview of this year’s selected artists, please refer to the list of 2023 Residencies.
Applications for residency programmes are only accepted via an annually open call. The next open call for applications will be in January 2023 for residencies in 2024.
