Jérôme Benoit
Head of Visual Arts & Design Sector / Deputy Director
Jérôme Benoit (born 1972) has been Deputy Director of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia since 1 June 2019. He is also Head of the Visual Arts & Design Sector, as well as the Finance and IT & Facility Management Divisions. After completing his studies in literature and humanities at the University of Neuchâtel (English, German, geography), he first worked as a translator and terminologist at the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport, before being appointed Head of the EURES project in connection with the free movement of persons at the Federal Office for Migration, as it was then called. In 2007, he joined the Bernese Cantonal Office of Culture, initially as a member of the academic staff, then as Deputy Head of Cultural Promotion, and finally as Cultural Delegate for the French-speaking part of the canton. In this function, he was also a member of the conference of cantonal delegates for cultural affairs (KBK/CDAC).
