As part of its Message on Culture, every four years parliament allocates a global budget to Pro Helvetia. For the period 2021-2024 the Arts Council will receive 180,5 million francs.

Operational budget
87,2% of the CHF 42,4 million that Pro Helvetia spent in 2019 went directly to culture as follows
- 41,2% for activities within Switzerland
- 58,8% for activities abroad (39,8% in Europe)
