Emerging Talents: concept grant
What
Concept development prior to the creation of a prototype (e.g. material and functionality research, project or process preparation and review)
For Whom
Emerging Talents’ are professional designers whose design-relevant training or registration (self-employed, sole proprietorship, company) dates back less than seven years.
Selection Criteria
- Feasibility, high degree of innovation and marketability
- Demonstrable sustainability concept
- Copyright and rights of use are held by the project sponsor.
- At least 50% of the participants are Swiss citizens or permanent residents whose place of work is in Switzerland.

Financial Contribution
Up to CHF 10,000
- Additional, individual coaching measures are possible
Content Of Application
- Concept (max. five A4 pages), incl. description of the planned project with images or sketches, development plan and the project vision
- Resume and portfolio of the participants
- Proof of status as an Emerging Talent: diploma or proof of registration (as self-employed, a sole trader or company)
- Detailed budget incl. information on own labour input
All documents must in principle be submitted in English.
Format-specific Exclusion Criteria
The following are excluded:
- Commissioned work and projects that are part of an advertising campaign
- Unique pieces, craft projects, new editions, collectible projects
- platforms, events or publications
Only one project per category may be submitted by the same applicant.
Application Deadlines and Decision Timelines
Applications can be submitted from | 1 January and 1 July |
Submission deadline | 1 March and 1 September |
Notification of decision | June and November |
Earliest start date for the project | 1 July and 1 January |
Decision-making processes
The applications will be assessed by a jury.
