Emerging Talents: Production grant
What
Production of a project based on a completed prototype or sample collection
For Whom
“Emerging talents” are professional designers whose design-relevant training or registration (self-employed, sole proprietorship, company) dates back less than seven years.
Selection Criteria
- Feasibility, high degree of innovation and marketability
- Demonstrable sustainability concept
- Copyright and rights of use are held by the project owner
- In-depth research on target groups and future market
- At least 50% of the participants are Swiss citizens or permanent residents whose place of work is in Switzerland

Financial Contribution
- Up to CHF 50,000 on the condition that own or third-party funding is available on a binding basis (matching grant)
- Additional, individual coaching measures are possible
Content Of Application
- Concept (max 10 A4 pages) incl.:
- Project description with plans, visualisations, etc.
- Compelling marketing strategy
- Value proposition (form available on application portal)
- Resume and portfolio of the participants, as well as an overview of the project’s organisation including responsibilities and structure, registration certificate (if registered)
- Detailed budget incl. information on own labour input and financial plan, cost estimate incl. offers
- Signed proof of self-financing or third-party financing (labour costs are not accepted as self-financing)
- Proof of copyright and rights of use
- All documents must be submitted in English
Format-specific Exclusion Criteria
The following are excluded
- Commissioned work and projects that are part of an advertising campaign
- Unique pieces, craft projects, new editions, collectible projects
- platforms, events or publications
Application Deadlines and Decision Timelines
Applications can be submitted from | 1 January and 1 July |
Submission deadline | 1 March and 1 September |
Notification of decision | June and November |
Earliest start date for the project | 1 July and 1 January |
Decision-making processes
The applications will be assessed by a jury.
Additional Information
Projects that meet the formal criteria will be invited to give an oral presentation before the expert jury.

For all supported projects, Pro Helvetia will develop an individual document to keep track of project milestones and time planning.
