What
Two- to four-week global research trip (destinations outside the Pro Helvetia liaison offices’ area of responsibility)
For Whom
Cultural practitioners from Switzerland who are active in any of the disciplines supported by Pro Helvetia. Applications from both individuals and duos are accepted.
Selection Criteria
- Motivation behind the desired context
- Sufficient knowledge of English or the language(s) of the destination in question
- A concrete research topic with a lasting impact
- For environmental reasons, applicants are requested to consider a travel duration of at least two weeks (depending on the destination)

Financial Contribution
Up to CHF 5,000

- In addition, artists and cultural practitioners with childcare responsibilities can apply for financial support of up to CHF 1,000 as a contribution to childcare or for the travel expenses of their children and, if necessary, a carer. This also applies if the child/children stay at home and are cared for. Applicants must present a budget of all expenses in advance.

- Detailed explanation of motivation behind the chosen context and artistic research
- Desired length of stay and destination
- CV and portfolio
- Expression of interest from a local coaching partner (e.g. festival/institution/museum/curator) who can help the applicant to establish contacts in the local scene and who can guarantee support for the research
- Breakdown of budget
