Head Performing Arts Division (80-90%)

Your tasks

You manage the Performing Arts Division in terms of content and operations and lead a team of four employees and one intern.

Your main tasks include:

  • Team management, budget responsibility and process monitoring
  • Handling grant applications, preparing and chairing jury meetings, responsibility for coherent grant-processing approach
  • Development and implementation of support strategies and measures in all performing arts disciplines
  • Formulation of concepts and impact targets, planning and implementation of promotional measures in Switzerland and abroad
  • Evaluation of support and promotion activities and assessment of measures with regard to their effectiveness
  • Exchange and collaboration with Pro Helvetia’s offices abroad as well as with domestic and international partner organisations and networks
  • Collaboration in cross-departmental projects
  • Ongoing exchange with the performing arts scene
  • Representing Pro Helvetia at events and in meetings with partners in the performing arts (event organisers, associations, cities, cantons etc.)

Your profile

For this multifunctional position we are seeking a committed personality who meets the following requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent education in an area related to the above tasks, or professional experience in the field
  • Multi-year working experience in the performing arts domain, including management responsibility
  • In-depth knowledge of the Swiss and international theatre and dance scenes
  • Experience in cultural policy and cultural promotion, and familiarity with the Swiss system of cultural promotion
  • Strategic, innovative and transversal manner of thinking
  • Ability to express yourself well both orally and in writing, and a very good knowledge of at least two Swiss national languages (German and French, level C1) and English (level C1).
