Swiss design September in London

The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is presenting contemporary Swiss design on two platforms in London this September. At the London Design Biennale, the Swiss contribution demonstrates an artistic and reflective take on the shaping of friendly relations. At the London designjunction, seven young Swiss studios from the domains of interior and product design will be putting their latest creations on display.

Pro Helvetia promotes contemporary Swiss design at all stages of the process, from concept to market. The range of work presented on the two major international platforms in London in September reflects the bandwidth of design supported by the Swiss Arts Council.

London Design Biennale (4–23 September): The Design of Friendship

The second edition of the London Design Biennale has been placed under the motto «Emotional States». It explores the various ways in which design influences our daily life and emotions. Curator Rebekka Kiesewetter is responsible for the Swiss contribution to the Biennale. She and her team will present «Body of Us», a project that deals with the design of friendly relationships as a fundamental element of human existence and as an ethical and emancipatory form of shared living. «Body of Us» investigates and questions the web of our relationships with fellow humans, with other forms of life and with inanimate objects by means of a physical and an audio installation, combined with a publication and an associated website bodyofus.ch.
