Cindy Van Acker founded Cie Greffe in 2002. Her work alternates between powerful solos and striking group pieces, and she has also worked with movement for the opera. Her dance is abstract, yet always linked to the idea of struggle and resistance, known as de strijd in Flemish. Van Acker’s work has been recognised with numerous awards, including two Swiss Dance Prizes and the Chevalière medal of the Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur (France’s National Order of the Legion of Honour). With over 20 choreographic works, Cie Greffe has gained international recognition.
