The International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM), founded by Milo Rau in 2007 and based in Switzerland and Germany, was established to create and promote his artistic works. Since its founding, IIPM has focused on exploring historical and socio-political conflicts through multimedia approaches. Its productions combine documentary and aesthetic elements to forge a new, highly condensed form of political art. With over 50 theatre productions, films, books, exhibitions, and actions, IIPM’s works have toured more than 30 countries and have been featured at major international festivals. Milo Rau has received numerous honours, including the 2017 Peter-Weiss-Prize, the 2017 3sat-Prize 2017, the 2017 Saarbrücken Poetry Lectureship for Drama, and the prestigious World Theatre Day ITI Prize in 2016.

In 2014, the company received the Swiss Theatre Award.
