Tabea Martin studied modern dance and choreography at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam and the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. Since 2006, her choreographic works have focused on the individual within their social environment. Her creations raise various questions: What drives people forward, or causes them to give up? Where does the separation of the sexes begin? What is truth, and how do we navigate the fact that we are influenced by the media and politics? In 2016, Tabea Martin received the Culture Award from the canton of Basel-Landschaft and has been supported by Pro Helvetia and the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft since 2019.
