Once a year, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia awards creation grants to Swiss comics and graphic novel authors on the recommendation of a jury of experts. Since 2024, these grants have amounted to CHF 25,000 and are intended to support projects currently in development.
In 2024, 52 projects were submitted: 21 from German-speaking Switzerland and 31 from French-speaking Switzerland. The nine projects selected by the jury reflect a talented scene, represented by emerging and established artists whose strong and original contributions contribute to the diversity of comics creation in Switzerland.
