Venice-based New Echo System is a project that fosters collaboration between Swiss and Italian artists working in music and the performing arts, all with a focus on sustainability.

Based at Venice’s Palazzo Trevisan degli Ulivi, it provides time and space for new ideas to grow and different disciplines to meet.

The project involves audiences in an ever-evolving ecosystem that supports concerts, performances, research, production, collaboration and more in Venice and Switzerland.

In 2025, New Echo System is back with a programme that combines residencies and public events in collaboration with long-standing partners and new organisations.

It kicked off in May (12–16) with a residency by clarinettist and sound artist möf and drummer and composer Francesca Remigi, for a project in collaboration with the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation.

The summer will feature an expanded series of events with partners old and new. The usual midsummer concert in the sculpture garden of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (9 July) will take place for the first time in partnership with Facciamo la Corte!, a festival that brings music and performing arts to the centre of Muzzano, Ticino, and which is now making its debut in Venice.

The second half of the year will be dedicated to artists’ residencies at Palazzo Trevisan degli Ulivi, starting with a collaboration between composer and multimedia artist Noemi Büchi and double bass player Ferdinando Romano (29 September – 3 October). Next, sound artist Sergei Leonov will be working with jazz musician Nina Baietta as part of a collaboration with L’Abri Genève (27–31 October). The final residency will be Sopraterra, a project by Magda Drozd and Nicola Genovese, from 3–7 November.

The year will conclude with a special event at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi, continuing our partnership with Palazzo Grassi – Pinault Collection for the fifth consecutive year.
