As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our support measures for Switzerland’s various visual arts scenes, a change in the application dates for the production grants will become effective as of January 2026.

From January 2026, applications for the two support measures ‘production grant’ and ‘grant for production with presentation’ will be open once a year, from 1 July to 1 September.  As with all the measures in which the applications are assessed by a jury, the start date of your project can, at the earliest, be four months after the application deadline, in that case the following 1 January.

Nationally established artists from Switzerland, active in all areas of the visual arts, can apply for these two productions grants. The next applications can therefore be submitted:

  • In 2025: from 1 July to 1 September
  • As of 2026: once a year, from 1 July to 1 September

As a reminder: to offer more flexibility in the creative process, the START grants are now open year-round and can be a good support in the initial phase of a new project, before entering the production phase.
