The Swiss Dance Days festival is aimed at event organisers from Switzerland and abroad but is also a meeting point for the Swiss dance scene and an exciting event for local audiences.
The Swiss Dance Days festival has been held since the 1990s on a bi-annual basis, with changing venues. The festival is organised by local theatres and other venues in collaboration with Reso – Dance Network Switzerland.
An independent jury selects pieces created over the past two years. For 2024, a total of 15 productions by Swiss choreographers were chosen. The diverse programme showcases multiple generations of arts practitioners and a variety of styles. Besides the jury programme, the event includes the well-established «Salons d’artistes», which provide young Swiss choreographers with an opportunity to present their work to national and international event managers.
Pro Helvetia has supported Swiss Dance Days from the beginning. The foundation also enhances the event’s impact by inviting arts practitioners and organisers from the regions covered by its offices abroad. In addition to the Swiss Dance Days festival, these international guests visit organisations and theatres around Switzerland for encounters and networking with local practitioners.
